Q: What leadership opportunities do you have?
A: SWIB provides leadership opportunities through Project Manager positions and through Executive Board positions. A new team is selected at the end of the school year. Check out our team page to see our current SWIB leadership.
Q: When does SWIB meet?
A: SWIB meets most Tuesdays evenings. Occasionally there will be weeks where we do not have meetings/optional attendance. The calendar is sent to members at the beginning of each semester, as well as weekly emails.
Q: How many members are in SWIB?
A: Although numbers vary per semester, there are typically around 100 members of SWIB at a time. Our members are spread out across all four years!
Q: As a new member, how do I get to know current members?
A: There are lots of opportunities to get to know members during your first semester of SWIB. At every meeting, each member is placed next to a different member in an effort to encourage our members to branch out and meet new people in the organization. We also offer a variety of optional social events including Lunch and Learns, office hours with exec, and membership events (brunch mixer, new member socials, shopping, etc.) that all help our members get to know each other better.
Q: Do members receive work opportunities from SWIB?
A: Yes! Many of our members have gotten either internships positions or full time jobs with several of our sponsors or with companies that members have connections at.
